Privacy policy

1. Who is responsible

AHFvial (Andrés Henao Fernández, Costa Rica) publishes FoliFast and ZipiName for Windows and the FoliFast Móvil app for Android and iPhone. For any question about privacy, write to [email protected].

2. In short

  • We do not receive your documents: they are processed on your computer and on your phone.
  • There are no accounts, no advertising, no advertising identifiers and no tracking. We do not sell or share personal data.
  • FoliFast Móvil only sends a document when you ask it to, and only to FoliFast on your own computer: over your local network or, if you choose, through the FoliFast relay on the internet, always end-to-end encrypted (AHFvial cannot open it).

3. FoliFast and ZipiName for Windows

They work with the files you choose, on your computer. They do not send their content to AHFvial or to third parties. Your preferences are saved on your computer. If “Also receive over the internet” is on, FoliFast checks the relay every minute while it is open, to download what your phone left encrypted; the reply it leaves is encrypted too.

Notes of virtual meetings: FoliFast listens to the microphone and the computer's sound only when you tap “Start”, after reading the notice to the participants and confirming their consent. Speech is turned into text on your computer, offline, with whisper.cpp; the audio is not kept and never leaves it. That speech recognition is downloaded once, when you ask for it, from the official whisper.cpp release on GitHub and from Hugging Face. The controller of the transcript is the company that records.

Calendar: it is stored on your computer. If you turn on “Share the calendar through a secret link”, FoliFast publishes a copy on the FoliFast relay (Cloudflare, on behalf of AHFvial) so that Google Calendar or Outlook can read it; that copy is NOT encrypted and anyone with the address can see it. Turning it off deletes it.

4. FoliFast Móvil (Android and iPhone)

  • Camera: only to scan documents and to read the QR code that FoliFast shows on your computer. The app does not record video.
  • Microphone (recording meetings): only when you tap “Record meeting”, read the notice to those present and confirm that each one gave express consent. Speech is turned into text on the phone by the system recognizer (Google on Android, Apple on iPhone) with the language downloaded, never sending the audio to the internet; if the phone cannot do it offline, the app does not record. The app does not keep the audio. The text is stored on the phone and only leaves it when you send it to FoliFast on your computer (encrypted, over your local network) or share it. AHFvial does not receive the recordings or the transcripts. The controller of that data is the company that records the meeting (Law 8968 in Costa Rica, Law 1581 of 2012 in Colombia): it informs the participants, handles their requests for access or correction and decides how long it keeps the transcript. For virtual meetings, the company also keeps the recording from the videoconference platform.
  • Calendar and reminders: the app receives from FoliFast on your computer (over your local network, encrypted) the upcoming dates of the company calendar and schedules the reminders on the phone itself. They are not sent to anyone.
  • Photos and files: only the ones you choose to import.
  • Your documents: they are saved in the app's private storage on your phone. They are deleted when you delete the document or uninstall the app.
  • Sending to your computer: only when you tap «Send to PC», directly to FoliFast on your computer over your Wi-Fi network, encrypted and authenticated with AES-256-GCM. Over the local network, documents do not go through servers of AHFvial or anyone else.
  • Sending over the internet (relay): only if the phone cannot find your computer over Wi-Fi and you choose “Send over the internet” after reading the conditions. The document or transcript is compressed and encrypted on the phone with your computer's key (AES-256-GCM) before it leaves; the FoliFast relay (Cloudflare, on behalf of AHFvial) stores only that encrypted package, which it cannot open, and deletes it as soon as FoliFast downloads it or, at the latest, after 24 hours. To work and enforce limits (25 MB per upload, 40 per day and 400 every 30 days) the relay keeps, without the content: a mailbox identifier derived from the key, the size, the time and a daily fingerprint of the connection that does not reveal your IP address. That technical data is deleted after 35 days at most (the connection fingerprint, after 2). For the 23-hour reminder the app uses a notification scheduled on the phone itself.
  • Linking key: the key that links the phone to your computer is kept in the phone's secure storage.
  • Sharing: if you share a PDF (email, WhatsApp, Drive…), you do it with the app you choose, and that app's policy applies.
  • Google and Apple components: on Android, the scanner and the QR reader use Google components (ML Kit and Google Play services) that process images on the phone. According to Google, these components may send Google technical diagnostic data (phone model, system and app version, performance and errors, and an installation identifier), not the images of your documents. On iPhone, the scanner is Apple's.
  • The app does not ask for your location, contacts or an account, and it does not use analytics or advertising.

5. Websites

folifast.com and zipiname.com count visits and clicks on «Download» without cookies and without storing your IP address or personal data.

6. Children

The programs are tools for professional work and are not directed to children.

7. Your rights

Since we do not keep your personal data, there is nothing of yours stored by us to consult, correct or delete. If you write to us, we use your email only to answer you and delete it when you ask us to. This policy is governed by the laws of Costa Rica, including Law 8968 on the protection of personal data.

8. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be on this page with its date. If any future function sends data (for example, license activation), it will be said beforehand and will never include names or contents of your files.
